Now Serving ~ Hot Recipes for a Cool August

As summer comes to a close and the temperature holds steady at HOT,

here are a few cool summer recipes from “Now Serving”

to help you enjoy the remaining sweltering days.

Peach Cobbler

                        ½ cup (1 stick) butter                           3 tablespoons butter, melted

                        4 peaches, peeled & sliced                  3 tablespoons sugar (optional)

                        1 cup sugar                                         1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

                        1 recipe pie pastry, prepared

Melt ½ cup butter in a 9-inch pie pan and remove from heat. Add the peaches and

cover with 1 cup sugar. Roll the pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into strips. Criss-cross the pastry strips over the top of the peaches. Brush the pastry with 3 tablespoons melted butter. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon together and sprinkle over the top of the pie. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until golden brown.
