Each of our members has a different story of what led them to the League, why they love it, and why they stay, even when the pressures of all our outside responsibilities seem as if we may be forced to turn the page and leave the League behind. As Dorothea Benton Frank said, “…stories bring us together to find common ground, to find our way through life together.” Sherman Alexie reminds us that, “Our stories have the power to break down barriers, to bring people together, and to create a more inclusive and just society.” You never know what someone will be inspired by in your story, and how it will connect you to your fellow members.

The Junior League of Wichita Falls has a rich history and a bright future ahead. However, it is up to all of us to speak up and advocate, loud and proud, about the incredible impacts we are able to make and why we love our League. Even in the midst of plot twists, cliff hangers, and other surprises, the pages of our story continue to turn as we foster the talents of our members and develop them to do a world of good, both in the Junior League and beyond.
