The Junior League of Wichita Falls is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
We welcome all women who value our Mission. We are committed to inclusive environments of individuals, organizations, and communities.
New Members Course:
Prospective members may join the Junior League of Wichita Falls (JLWF) during one of three designated entry periods throughout the year. Upon joining, each New Member will receive a list of requirements to be completed before being considered for Active Membership. While the program is designed to take approximately one year, New Members may work through the requirements at their own pace.
Throughout the New Member year, you’ll gain valuable insight into the League’s mission, structure, and its impact on the community. You’ll also have the chance to participate in a variety of volunteer and fundraising initiatives, as well as receive hands-on training to help you grow into a skilled and effective volunteer for both JLWF and the Greater Wichita Falls area.
The New Member Course includes:
-
A comprehensive orientation
-
Informational meetings
-
A collaborative project
-
Participation in volunteer shifts, educational programs, and fundraising events
New Members will be placed on a committee immediately and will be expected to attend monthly General Meetings and monthly Committee Meetings. In general, all members are required to work two 3-hour shifts at our Christmas Magic fundraiser, as well.
At the conclusion of the course, New Members who have successfully fulfilled all requirements will be recommended for Active Membership in the League.
All JLWF members are responsible for the following financial obligations:
- Annual Dues: $135 (plus an additional $30 one-time fee upon joining)
- Christmas Magic Fundraiser: $100 worth of tickets sold
- Headquarters Fundraiser: $60 worth of tickets sold
- Annual Dinner: $35 (traditionally held in early May, a celebration of the year with a catered meal. Ticket price may vary, but $35 is the goal)
- Optional: $50+ (Texoma Gives, JLWF socials, Christmas gifts for partner school, monthly impact items, merchandise, affinity groups, etc)
